I call bullshit when I see it. I also call bad taste and a lack of common sense.

THIS.

The last time I visited an ER here in the US, I was very ill. I was dizzy, vomiting, and could not stand. I’d passed out twice. Yet I had to wait for nearly three hours. There were a few others waiting as well, but it wasn’t a full ER by any means. When they finally got to me, I passed out again. They treated me with an IV, meds, and ran a ton of labwork. Then I was told I should have come in much sooner.

That was back when I did have insurance (that I could barely afford). Now I do not. Because I am unemployed. If I get a job and get traditional insurance again, my premium would be about $1200 per month and it wouldn’t cover much of anything, as virtually everything can be called a “pre-existing condition”. If you have insurance and you like your situation just fine, then you need not be concerned with this at all. It will not be taken away from you. The only thing you might experience is lower premiums due to healthy competition. This bill will help people like me a great deal. We’ll be able to go to our doctors, buy our meds, and stay healthy. Why should you give a fuck that I’m healthy? Because it’ll be less likely I’ll be in the above situation again, without insurance. Because that’s when you’d pay dearly for my care.

Anyone operating under the delusion that things are hunky-dory in the current US healthcare system needs to seriously put down their defensiveness and do a little listening. -AG

YUM! Loose meat sammich for breakfast! Well it was left over veggie taco meat so I suppose it is more like a Taco Time Taco Burger (a NW favorite)…..but on artisan bread. Whatever, it was GOOD.
*envious*
